Our curriculum is designed to foster students’ inquiry skills, interdisciplinary learning, communicative and self-learning abilities, skills which are much needed for 21st century’s globalized world of work and life.

While encouraging students to strive for academic excellence, they are also guided individually to develop their individual potential and talent to the full. These characteristics are strongly promoted by the school’s ‘LAMV Learner Attributes’. Students learn to appreciate positive universal human values including responsibility, honesty, integrity, humility, commitment, perseverance, respect for others, compassion and valuing learning.

The school thus aims to enhance students’ awareness of their own cultural identity and heritage, whilst deepening their understanding and respect for other peoples, nations and cultures.

II. STRATEGIES

Quality teaching team & small classes

Native English-speaking teachers and bilingual overseas-returned teachers are the asset of Lumbini AMV. When recruiting teachers, the school places much emphasis on selecting and matching the teacher’s vocational aspirations and professionalism with the philosophy of the school. This ensures that teachers joining the school are fully committed to the educational values and mission of Lumbini AMV.

A structured professional development program, as well as training, are implemented on a regular basis to ensure that staff members continue to reflect on their practice and grow professionally so that they can excel in their teaching and team working. Training takes the form of workshops, training courses, seminars, mentoring, professional reviews, networking and teacher exchange program.

Students also benefit from a small student to teacher ratio that ensures that every student’s academic advancement and personal growth are best looked after and their talent and potentials are developed to the full.

The school adopts a holistic language approach, so that effective use of language is expected in every aspect of teaching and learning in all subjects, not just in language lessons. In this way all teachers are responsible for students’ language development.

A rigorous and stimulating reading program is implemented, together with special support strategies to help all students to raise their literacy skills to the required levels.

House and Club system to enhance Co-Curricular Activities:

To enhance co-curricular activities of our students, the school has a house and club system in which every student and teacher is a member of one of four houses under Senior Division and Junior Division.

House and Club activities, such as camps and inter-house competitions are held regularly to enhance team spirit, develop leadership and social skills as well as compassion for others.

Progress and Achievement team and Personal Growth Program framework
